Here at MamaDrama, we’ve decided to concentrate our efforts on the things we care about. Theater is close to our heart, and so are important causes, particularly ones that involve women. Our goal as a company is to work on projects that we are passionate about and to have an impact on others.
So when the opportunity arose to work on a campaign called Rosacea Facts, we jumped. This happens to be Rosacea Awareness Month, so it’s a great time to jump on board with this important effort!
Did you know that over 16 million Americans suffer from Rosacea, a vascular condition caused by inflammation with symptoms that include facial redness, pimples and irritation? Yet only 10% of sufferers are being treated! And women are especially prone when they are over 30 years-old.
No one is picture perfect – not even celebrities – but everyone can get educated on skincare, especially if you suspect you have Rosacea. We were curious to find out more and to help spread awareness about this often undiagnosed skin condition.
So is award-winning actress Cynthia Nixon (best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes in HBO’s series, Sex and the City and so many of our favorite Broadway shows). She is now starring in an online public service announcement in honor of Rosacea Awareness Month and sharing her personal experience with Rosacea for the first time. Check it out:
While there is no cure for Rosacea and the cause is unknown, it can be treated with the help of a dermatologist. As the two of us learn more about Rosacea throughout this campaign, we’ll fill you in.
Disclosure: The internet public service announcement was created in partnership with theNational Rosacea Society and sponsored by Galderma Laboratories, L.P. This post is sponsored by Galderma Laboratories, L.P. as part of the Rosacea Facts awareness campaign.
