This weekend, something very exciting is happening online and in New York City. Something that so far only happens once every two years: The Bloggers are coming. Starting August 2nd, BlogHer 2012, the world’s largest female blogging conference, will bring most of the biggest influencers in the blogosphere to New York, inviting them to tweet and post about everything they experience. It’s a unique opportunity for Broadway to show itself off to the rest of the nation (and the world), and for folks back home to follow their favorite cyber best friend on her Big Apple adventure.
When MamaDrama starting offering tickets to a few lucky bloggers, the enthusiasm and demand became overwhelming. It’s clear that folks who live outside of New York are hungry for Broadway, and MamaDrama is thrilled to invite our online neighbors to experience the Great White Way.
Over the next few days, MamaDrama bloggers from all over the country will attend performances of Porgy and Bess, Ghost, Avenue Q, Spider-Man Turn off the Dark and End of the Rainbow. They’ll be tweeting and posting about their experiences, sharing the love with their sizeable followings back home and helping to build some out of town buzz for our beloved Broadway.
For theatre fans, this is a great opportunity to connect with bloggers who want to talk Broadway. By logging on to Twitter and following the hashtag #BlogHerBway, you can find out who’s catching a show during the conference while sharing your own tips and opinions on what’s hot and what’s happening on Broadway. Just as the BlogHer conference connects bloggers from all over the world, #BlogHerBway will connect theatregoers and bloggers from all over the world, sparking a real-time discussion about what’s happening in New York Theatre.
So start Tweeting, all of you Broadway fans in the know! Let our influential, out of town guests know what’s not to miss and see what they’re sharing with their friends back home. BlogHer only lasts for a few days, and it only comes to NYC ever two years!
